ONLINE SATSANG SUNDAY 11 AM ARIZONA (MOUNTAIN) TIME

YOU ARE NOT YOUR BODY; YOU ARE THE SPIRIT LIVING WITHIN YOUR BODY, AND THE FASTEST MOST JOYFUL WAY TO REALIZE THIS IS THROUGH DEEP, DEVOTIONAL LOVE OF OTHERS IN RELATIONSHIP.

To best take advantage of Satsang, listen to chanting for an hour before and an hour after. My teachings are not in the formal teachings, but in my presence, just as Robert Adams and many others, teach this way. This is a direct transmission between the life force in me and the life force in you. Chanting aligns you better to receive this teaching. Robert’s words were just stories he told with no essential value. His teachings about emptiness, nothingness, and the Void were felt in his presence.

Go to satsangwithedji.weebly.com and listen to the chanting there.

27 December 2018

There is a concept emerging now that the spiritual marketplace is in a huge mess of corruption and abuses by teachers, and that there is need of an organization to provide moral and ethical guidelines for spiritual teaching relationships.

They are using the ethics covering psychotherapeutic relationships as their guide.

To me, this is ridiculous. A therapist sees a client once or twice a week for 50 minutes at a time and excludes any personal, business, or financial relationship outside of those sessions.

These therapeutic relationships are formal, one-sided in a big way as the therapist is totally in charge of the environment, and the client is a patient.

Usually such relationships have the purpose of finding relief from inner pain, depression, anxiety, or finding relief from issues arising in relationships.  Therapy is considered primarily curative, and only secondarily as a modality for growth or transformation.

A spiritual teaching relationship is entirely different.  It is primarily about growth and transcendence, rather than being curative, and the transcendence envisioned is to go entirely beyond the human, the personality, to the divine, or to the absolute, or to emptiness, goals not even contemplated in any traditional psychotherapy.

It is also two-way, not tightly bound into discrete time sessions, is personal, and romantic feelings can be used for spiritual purposes in any number of ways going in either direction.

But the ideas of outsiders is that the teacher/student relationship is one way only, of the power teacher and the poor, weak, needy student who is so easily abused, a concept that differing power elements in a spiritual organization can use against teachers from other organizations, or used to attack teachers within that one organization.

Outsiders are blind to the fact that the student can abuse other students and the teacher too, in so many ways.

How do you think this problem should be addressed?

Outsiders see spirituality as a marketplace that needs to be regulated and can point to any number of teachers as examples of immorality or corruption that must be punished out of existence.

I really don't see it that way at all.  I don't think I ever had a teacher who was deliberately abusive or more than 50% autocratic.  But it was only when I got with one teacher that I could surrender to that I received any real benefit, and not until I met two women that I could surrender to that I found God both within and without.

Devotion and surrender are essential, but the Western model of the therapeutic relationship does not trust either devotion or surrender as part of it, except to be analyzed as transference.  Surrender to a guru, or a guru surrendering to a student is not contemplated or considered acceptable.

MY COMPLETE CONFESSION AS SPIRITUAL STUDENT AND TEACHER

ON BECOMING A VESSEL FOR GOD—MY COMPLETE COFESSION AS SPIRITUAL STUDENT AND TEACHER

This post was initiated by a very deep and long-time student who fell off the path for a time because the bliss left him and he felt frustrated and angry at some spiritual teachers.

FROM S:

“For some genetic reason, I have been pursuing enlightenment since childhood never questioning the inner drive....

I could write a book on this with thousands of experiences with hundreds of Guru's, teachers, enlightened ones, fake enlightened ones, turds, etc.

A lot of it came together recently and the conclusion was  opposite of my expectations, but interesting also.

The "Enlightened Ones" that I am familiar with have absolutely no boundaries; anything goes.  This includes deception, outright lying, sexual affairs, you name it.

Chasing married men/women all over the world for sex. Getting arrested for indecent exposure. Using and promoting use of illegal drugs (osho) to the point the Government steps in. Avoiding taxes. Guru's fighting, arguing, stabbing each other in the back and tearing each others’ teachings to shreds. Even tearing devotees to shreds when they don't 'fall in line'.  Being placed in mental institutions?? Charging exorbitant sums. they all don't do this of course.

Edji, this isn't meant to point to anyone in particular but just to cover the Guru lifestyles and examples that we have seen worldwide - which is quite poor.

Most of the Guru's are not good examples for anyone except psychopaths to admire. And from what some Gurus have said - it is not an enjoyable lifestyle at all. Many sites on the internet discuss this and they get quite negative at times in regards to 'enlightenment'.

Guru's promote Bliss but that is only part of Consciousness and falls away.  Is this promotion to suck you in by not telling that the bliss is temporary.

Can you tell me that a Guru who will fly half-way around the world to have sex with a married man is a happy and blissful girl??  What is she seeking.  Apparently the seeking had not ended with 'Enlightenment'?     No thoughts or cares of breaking up a marriage??  Morality out the window from someone supposed to be 'above reproach'.

Do Guru's really have any good reasons for teaching?  The bliss and happiness dog and pony show doesn't seem to get it. Religion and the Catholic Church are founded on total untruths and lies and with a little research this can be proven. “Maybe the sale of Enlightenment is another   Big Lie?”

MY RESPONSE TO HIS DIS-EASE:

You seem to be in a difficult place filled with hurt, frustration, disappointment.

Let me be incredibly open and honest with you.  There are paths that emphasize the absolute, nothingness, or emptiness, such as Buddhism, Advaita Vedanta and classical Tibetan Buddhism.  These are the kind of teachings where you stare at a wall for 30 years looking for self, truth, the absolute, or the unchanging self.  It took me 27 years to find my first enlightenment experience with Robert Adams using this kind of approach.  It is slow, requires great effort and focus, and the enlightenment experience itself, the world shattering quality of it, is in the end, not so very much.

Then there are the paths that emphasize perceiving, feeling, and then controlling the energies found inside and around one’s body, loving another, having complete devotion and surrender, and finding bliss.

For me this path began with falling desperately in love with a woman, a student, K., a complete romantic love with intense sexual desire.  We never sexually consummated our mutual devotional love.  But through my love for her, and her love for me.  I found God.  I found an awakening to the God within, the supreme energy of the universe, aka Shakti.  The Shakti disappeared after a while, but when another woman, E., came to me during 2017, she came with the desire to be with me forever, and I felt it.  Suddenly, the energies I had felt with K. before returned, and increased four or five fold.  The power was amazing.  The sexual desire was amazing.  The Shakti within became permanent, and extremely powerful, so that people all over began to experience it through me.

I cannot imagine now any spirituality which does not have a central focus on devotional love, surrender, and sexuality, would have much of a chance in this modern world of quick results.  Sexuality raises the most energy in the human body over most other desires, which can transform into devotional love and surrender.  It is, in surrender, total surrender, that you receive God’s grace and become divine yourself.

All her life E. has fallen in love with married men, and left that relationship so as not to harm the wife.  This happened to her three times that I know of.  Each time she was crushed.  Then she cheated on her own husband, and when she told him, he went berserk.  She became so frightened that she left him for her lover, S.  Her husband committed suicide by crashing his car into the side of a bridge.  S. psychologically has deteriorated over the years, and once was an extremely successful electronics engineer, but now lives in a garage making pennies a day.  E. now considers herself a destroyer.  She has destroyed relationships, destroyed marriages, destroyed her own life.

But this is the way of Shakti.  Shakti herself has no purity.  Shakti is ruthless and rules all of our lives.  The one who thinks he or she makes her own decisions is a fool.  We are all slaves to Shakti.  The key to happiness is to surrender to Shakti and her will, wherever she takes you, or through the stories she forces onto you. Some call this surrendering t God’s will, and that is the key: learning how to surrender.

In my own work, I discovered after E. left that woman after woman (and men) fell in love with me, became deeply devotional, and became highly sexualized until they were feeling orgasms all the time.  Eventually, the orgasms left their genitals, moved upwards into their hearts and brains, where devotional love turned to realization of Shakti within and without. One student went so far as realize God as well.  All this in a matter of months as opposed to 27 years of various forms of meditation and self-inquiry.

Sexuality allows intense energies to arise which become transformed into the perception of Shakti throughout the body and orgasms throughout the body which become nonsexual in nature, and a foretaste of the experience of God within and without.  The same holds true for men, they can become orgasmic also, starting with feeling the constant sense of sexual arousal, which turns into a full-blown bliss of God during and after the realization of God both as Brahman, and as Atman as their own personal self.

I do not do this style of energetic teaching lightly, but with full awareness of the power of the energies and emotions aroused.  The point is to arouse those energies so that people are energized out of their negative energy contractions and obsessive internal stories of self-hatred and loneliness, but all the time being aware that most of these students are like little children depending on you to grow up in a positive, supportive environment. Growing up itself is a painful experience in the best of times, but the teacher needs to be mindful that students do not yet know God within, therefore they are fragile, and he has to be gentle. But even then there is always is pain, fear, jealousy. Read Irina Tweedie’s book on her non-sexual relationship with her Sufi.

Remember, human relationships unlike mathematics and science, are very muddy.  There complicated, they are filled with emotions, human needs, desires, sexuality,  love, surrender and dominance.  These romantic relationships between humans, either heterosexual or homosexual, become the grist through which God burns you, and the guru uses to awaken Shakti in you.

So never look down on all gurus who use sexuality to arouse Shakti as being sick, corrupted, abusers, etc., some, a few, are just very wise in the ways of awakening through energy path modalities, as opposed to the paths of Ramana, Nisargadatta or Robert Adams.  The energy teachers’ paths are incredibly quick compared to Ramana’s way, or Robert Adams’ way. Outsiders of the energy traditions can’t really judge from their perspective, whether either teacher or student are being abusive or manipulative, because abuse and manipulation can go both ways.

If you watch that yourtube short called the Three Gurus with Andrew Cohen, you will see that most gurus feel abused by their students, and they put up with them for the students’ benefits.  Sexuality used to arouse sexual energies that is then transformed into non-sexual divine surrender is nt abusive, and outsides have no concept of sx being used this way, either physical sex, or virtual romantic fantasy.

Nor is bliss temporary.  Sometimes it burns brightly, but sometimes it goes out for a year or even a few years so, but if you are constantly aware of your body, it comes back in a very short period of time when you learn how to move energies from the genitals to the heart and into your brain.  I can truly say that the Shakti in me is far more powerful now than it was during the height of my two “affairs” with K. and E.  It is like the latter left me with her energy, which allows me to move many people, just using words, the cadence of my voice, the sound of my voice to awaken love and devotion in many, many people.

But really, it is not me doing this teaching.  Shakti for some reason has chosen me to awaken others to her energy, on her behalf, in relationships that are filled with emotion, arousal, bliss, and energies, and in which I am totally committed to helping others’ lives in the world.  You see, I love life.  I love the spirit in each sentient being, and I bow to that spirit desiring only to help each person to awaken to their spiritual identity.

ON BECOMING A VESSEL FOR GOD:

Mostly, one who is a teacher has to help students get out of negative contractions by providing unconditional support, love, and by directly infusing energies into them so that they can start moving again.

It is picking broken people off of the ground, helping them stand up, giving them a break from hell.  After a while, then they can regain a true path towards opening everything in them, all the love they can possibly feel, all the energies they can feel and control.

TWO FUNDAMENTAL TRUTHS:

You help people realize two fundamental "truths:"  they are not their bodies, but spirit.  I do not use the term consciousness or awareness, as they are too abstract.  They are spirit.  Help them find that they are this life-spirit within their bodies and not just a mechanical mind-body. They have to be able to perceive themselves as spiritual being living in and through their bodies, which are merely vessels and sensors for spirit.

The other truth is that this spirit is divine; it is the same "substance" or essence that God is.  Each individual, nay, each separate sentient being are incarnations of the divinity, with God living inside and around them, and they can directly communicate with Him/Her at all times.  But primarily they must feel and see themselves as spiritual beings.

THE PATH TOWARDS REALIZING THOSE TRUTHS AND ALL OTHERS:

One has to love others, and if you have a guru or lover, love them with all your capability to love.  Worship them.  Surrender to them.  Give yourself away in total submission.  When you can do that, you are empty enough so that God comes into you and shows you Her form, gives Her grace and forgiveness, and leads you to the unending white/blue light of divinity that resides in all people.

Your total attention has to be on your Beloved, loving them, worshiping them, surrendering to them.  I know, Westerners think this is a terrible idea because you can be used or destroyed by an abuser.  This is a common idea.

But this does not happen to someone capable of total surrender, for they are surrounded and guided by God to be at the right place and at the right time, in the right situation. They do total surrender because they feel the light and grace of God guiding and comforting them every moment.  Without this sense of golden grace and light surrounding own's beingness, total surrender is fraught with risk.  But when God walks with you, total surrender is the easiest thing in the world to do.  Your whole life at that point becomes an incredible drive to surrender.

When God enters your life, all things are possible--no, all things are incredibly easy!  Getting God's grace though is difficult.  In my case, it came through loving others as completely as I thought possible, and this ability to love just kept deepening the more I did it.  And the type of love I felt was not the usual Christian concept of compassionate, motherly love, because that comes much later after one feels totally loved for one's own self as a person, by another, and by God.  The love that brought me to God was an ecstatic, romantic and erotic love filled with desire and sexual arousal that was never once consummated physically.

This kind of love, total romantic submersion into the story of complete romantic submission, so completely awakens the body, the mind, your heart, and the endless energies within--Shakti, through whom all things are made possible.  This is Tantra, true Tantra, to awaken the body completely, to use sexual desire, all other desires, romantic imagery to become completely alive and awaken thus to God's love after the aroused sexuality become suffused throughout one's body.  Then the sexual lust transmutes into the shining of God within.

After realization of God through love, devotion, and surrender, and an awakening to a life of the spirit, all other truths begin to unfold for you, from a constant direct awareness of the empty, void nature of all experience, as well as the constant changing of all experiences, with no permanence, and that the whole show arises from nothingness and submerges in the end to nothingness.  This nothingness is different from the Void, or emptiness, which is still an experience. Nothingness is the ending of experiencing and of the mind, but not necessarily an end to existence.

ONLINE SATSANG SUNDAY 11 AM ARIZONA (MOUNTAIN) TIME
AWAKENING THE ENERGIES WITHIN
Perceiving then using energies for spiritual advancement is a million miles from the paragon of just watching one's beingness, like Vipassana, Shikantaza, self-inquiry, or emptiness meditation. Once the energies are felt, you are swept along by these energies, rather than constantly using will power to focus on something. The energies guide you automatically.
SPEED SKATING WITH SHAKTI
I am continually amazed by the rapidity and depth of positive change in people who follow a path of Shakti—working with inner and outer energies—as opposed to those who work with meditation, self-inquiry, emptiness, or insight methods.
Self-inquiry methods—and they are legion—are effortful and slow to produce results. Insight methods similarly, are slow, thinking based, and tend to turn into an endless train of progressively sophisticated insights, but usually without much psychological or spiritual progress.
However, once you have a taste of Shaktipat, when energies enter your life as a constant felt sense, everything changes. “You” no longer have to make any effort except to continually relax into the sensations and changes Shakti brings. You surrender to the sensations and changes she brings.
Shakti can come into your life spontaneously, as it did with me, or as the result of effortful practices such as deliberately raising the Kundalini energy, or by having access to an energy teacher and being initiated into an awakening of the energies through the presence of the teacher.
Those who have followed Advaita or Buddhisms many different paths are astounded by the rapidity of their spiritual unfolding once they are embraced by Shakti. The secret then is just to remain as devotional as possible, and surrender each moment to whatever experiences, changes, or persons she brings to you.
Shakti is so beguiling, so tantalizing, and is the bringer of endless ecstasies, insights, pleasures, and understandings, along with a sense of belonging, rest, and confidence.

FOUR EMAIL RESPONSES TO YESTERDAY'S SATSANG

Today you flowed with a blazing energy, and you caught fire to those who attended as if we were dry pine trees.

Indeed, Satsang had the beauty of an ancient forest fire.
I don't know if it is just me, but these gatherings seem to be getting more and more profound. The energies more and more powerful. It feels like we are all one ball of energy gaining momentum each and every week. It is absolutely delightful to be a part of.

I am happier than I may have imagined to be getting in touch with a few members of the Sangha personally. More evidence that even the greatest imaginations of mind are but a shadow of what can be directly felt.

Genuine Human Connection seems to bring my Heart evermore to life with Love.

I don't believe there will be a day when I will be tired of Thanking you.

I don't believe there will be a day when I will be tired of Loving you.

My gratitude again to you Ed,

and my Love.
Eddie how’s your health doing? Yesterday’s satsang was magic. Felt really relaxed and joyful after it
You are really helping me, really grateful for that!
------------------------------------------
Dear Ed,

Thank you so much for your guidance.

Now in the End I understood: one guru, one teaching.

The weeks ago I was still engaged in Advaita, trying to understand,
which puts me into the head.

so while meditating, i was looking for the "I Am", which I could

feel faintly in the lower part of my body at the same time I opend to
your teaching and the energy expands in my whole body,

I was irritated, which way to go and suddenly this two part moved
together and the energy moved upwards to my heart, so shakti gave

me the answer. Since then I totally surrender to you and shakti, not
with my mind, but with my heart. My whole live I followed the path where
I could feel the truth

or the energy. All these teachings of the last decades I could not feel
them with my heart, but tried to understand them with my mind, which led
me nowhere.

My former spiritual teachers have added one concept after another, even
without that I noticed that.

Now they all become meaningless, all this little should´s and dont´s,
all these trying to unterstand, all these questions.

I can fully embrace the live, I can love my wife and my children, there
are no more holdbacks.

There is nothing for me to do, only surrender, Shakti willl do her work,
I and my mind are no longer in the way.

So even my mind and the thoughts I can embrace, if they arise they are
only another kind of energy.

So the last decades my mind was rumbling like a monkey in my head, I
tried to control him, to calm him, with not much succes.

Now I just open and let him do, what he does and shakti takes him and
transformed him.

So finally I am coming home . Since yesterday I can feel shakti even in
my daily live.

You light the fire in my heart and my only task is it, to offer it or me
to shakti.

With deep love and devotion…
-------------------------------------
Yesterday my wife and I both attended your satsang
and both she and I were impregnated with what came through
you and came to us. We do not understand English as well as
we would like but it did not matter because the energy that
came was more important than understanding or not understanding
the words, although we did understand it much better than
we expected: Shaktipak, Shakti passing through you, etc.,
and the devotional song during which you went looking at all
those present there. We can only be infinitely grateful.
We were a year ago with Mooji in a face-to-face satsang
in Portugal, where he resides, which was beautiful and
impressive, but yesterday it was completely different:
in much less space of time the feeling was different,
profound and very special.

‘TIS BUT A DREAM

The world that each of us lives in is not real.  It is but a construct of our minds.  How can we know this?  We know this by having our awareness sink into our beingness to deeper levels than the mind.

When we close our eyes and go within, if we could drop the center of our consciousness, the focus of our awareness, into our heart area or into our gotten, we will at first only find a dark emptiness.  That emptiness is cool, relaxing, and full of acceptance, of a quiet greeting of all that is felt there, including emotions.  The heart area is the container for all emotional experience.  If we drop lower than the heart area into the gut or lower, emotions disappear.

By dwelling on the movement of our diaphragm and breathing in and out, the movements of our ribs as our lungs expand and contract, the stretching of the muscles between the ribs, as well as the expansion and contraction of our abdomens with our breath, we begin to regain a total awareness of our bodies.

By keeping the focus of our attention embedded in the body by continuous scanning of every portion of our body, the bottoms of our feet to the top of our head, we gain an ability to feel our body as a whole, sensations, its movements, extensions, its rigidity, i him him ts joy, and its suffering.

Interfering with this exploration will be the mind that tries to make connections out of our experiences, the kinesthetic with the tactile, memories will arise, returning us to times of sorrow, grief, of great love, loss, joy and even peace. Emotions will return strongly.  Sometimes frightening emotions, sometimes depression, sometimes sadness, sometimes moments of great happiness.  Everything will be changing, flowing, moment by moment changing our emotional experiences until we feel lost in the stream carried along by a flow of emotional feeling, which gradually shades into the feelings of our bodies.

When we have been in this place long, you begin to notice something else entirely: a tingling, a quivering of small energies within, starting in the heart area, or sometimes in our forehead, sometimes felt in the belly for in the feet.  Repeated focusing on these energies makes them increasingly intense and seemingly real.

These energies can begin to flow in patterns or streams within the body, rotating around the heart clockwise or counterclockwise, or vertically between our in the pubis area.  The energies can flow from our heart area outwards through the arms and exit into the space around us as expelled energies.  Long focusing on these energies will allow them to change their pitch, their harmonies, their characters, so they become transformed into bliss and later into ecstasies of such under thrill, such tender love, such inner bliss that we dare not move to disturb this blissful perfection.

After a long time of experiencing these energies, it will seem like we perceive a new greater depth within, the principal characteristic of that depth is the perception of an inner light that is all pervading and provides the container for those inner energies which I call Shakti.  Once Shakti shows up in our life, our spiritual progress is automatic and are only effort will be to continuously perceive the energies as often as possible, in meditation, and while walking around in everyday life.  Soon the energies become more real even than our bodies, because these energies have been transformed into a sense of presence, an electromagnetic being that pervades our body and extends beyond your body a bit into the world.  I call this energy body, my sense of presence, and it feels far more real than my physical body.

Sinking downwards into the light.  I make a new discovery, that I am not the body at all, but I am that which is the energies solidifying, becoming solid yet translucent and transparent into one continuous flowing of light, which more deeply becomes blue.  It this blue white light is our innermost being, far under our everyday perceptual level, and it is the energies, Shakti, and focus on her, that leads us to this light.  With this discovery of light, automatically comes the discovery that we are spirit, not body, not materiality, but spirit, life, and the force of life, the blue light, energy, which is universally the same in all sentient beings.

Dwelling in this light is ecstatic.  So wondrous to behold that I am this light, and I share this with all other sentient beings.  We find infinite space, total relaxation into the infinite mystery of Self.  There is no more to do after dwelling in the self.  It is perfect rest, and escape from the dream world of thoughts, objects, ideologies, drama.

With this discovery that we are spirit, awareness, consciousness, we understand that Shakti, the energies, are a deeper way of relating to God and others than through concepts and the mind, or even emotions, dance, music, all of which can have a profound effect on others.  The performance arts go deeper than mere concepts and stories even when most expertly composed.

So the way to communicate in the world is most often through concepts and stories, but a deeper way, is directly through the energies by feeling Shakti and shaping her in a way that directly transforms others by creating similar energy states in them, similar types of lists or beckoning energies that act on a mostly unconscious level, with most people.  In other words, we play with our own energies within an about us in a way that in trains, the energy states in other people, which are mostly out of their areas of awareness, and try to bring into them, or resonation with our place of energy.

There is a different way of changing the world than by changing the story.  The usual way of changing the world for the radical thinker is the state a new kind of story like socialism,, or social democracy, or some other is a, and point out all the places in society where there is harm or suffering, and try to create an empathy for the suffering that will bring us into the movement to change things.

As it is, every day we hear all kinds of stories.  There is a story promulgated by Fox news of an aberrant, conservative, callousness.  There is the neoliberal point of view expressed by MSNBC and CNN.  Each of these creates in their listening audiences a container world within which they live, and creates an opposition with the world view expressed by the others.  All of this takes place within a Twentyfirst Century version of a democracy that really does not do well by people.  The usual way of changing would be to point out defects in the society, how they cause harm, to whom they cause harm, and to get people to combine in a movement to change those specific things for more people, not just for those who are in charge.

But there is a different way, a way of working directly with Shakti through our own silent, and feeling way that we interact with her, communicate with her, feel her love and express her will.  I cannot actually tell you how, for I cannot explain even how I do it myself.  There are no words for how to operate on the Shakti level.  You are not using emotions, you are not using concepts, you are not using ideas.  It is more like a performance art, but an art form that is totally beyond the senses, therefore you cannot describe what you are doing as a painter describes how she paints a landscape, or composer creates a sonata, or a violinist teaches a student how to bow.  These are all sensual experiences, and one can use words and show by example how to do these things.  But working with Shakti is totally beyond the senses, and operates at the deepest and most subtle of feeling and there are no words here.  You just have to learn it by yourself, or be with somebody who is doing it in real-time with you.

SEVERAL EMAILS RECEIVED LAST THREE DAYS RE THE POWER OF THE FEELING WAY: All of my previous letters to you have been for me. Begging for your guidance or excitedly telling you that I am swimming in ecstasies. I write This letter for You. So I will keep the bullshit to a bare minimum! You said you felt sickly, but I thank you for being at Satsang (even with your sickly laptop!), for even a drop of that presence is enough to quench all thirsts of spirit. At one time I prayed to have the power to take pain away from others, to heal them. I need no power anymore, I am a servant to this Love that flows in and between us both and us all. And I only need to pray to IT, to ask it to be with you, to do its perfect thing in its perfect way, to do its smooth dirty work, to work its strange magic.

I feel my Self as a falling into a gentle place, as abiding in peace, mild and welcome euphoria
and well-being.....not taking a position but resting in what I already am when all of the filters and conditioning
are relaxed and healed/transcended. An abiding in a very spacious, welcoming, blissful Peace/Calm,
which is identifiably me!

I sit still now in ecstatic peace.

Blue white light am I flowing from my inner Void.  The Void is dark but from its roots flows this light everywhere and ecstatic.

I cannot look away from this bliss of light. I am captured by it.

My body from toes to scalp tingles with what feels like an erotic bliss exploding outwards, within this vast light, which ebbs and flows in brightness and intensity, then sometimes flickers like a candle’s light licked by a silent draft.

I watch all this as two: one who is the witness of all, and one who is Ed the human.

How can I show others that they are this same light too? How can I show them the endless power that flows from their inner emptiness?  This energy within is endless, flowing, incandescent, bliss.

Others in another room watch movies, but I am the movie of an infinite life.  There is no death for me for I am everywhere.  I am life incandescent, burning, flowing light, filling the endless Void with the love and power of life.

How did I get to this place?  It is by doing what I tell others: the supreme understanding and goal of life is to feel within, re-own your body’s sensations, your sexuality, your emotions, descending ever deeper into your human condition, then much, much deeper until you explode with love of your yourself and all of creation.

With bliss like this, I can understand how Christ could tolerate crucifixion and return as life with love, because the life in you and in me are the same: both are little flames arising out of the universal life fire.  Please, let me kindle your heart’s flame with mine.

BECOMING GOD INCARNATE

In spirituality the way I understand it, there is nothing to figure out. It is not a matter of understanding what it real, or what God and Self are, or whether Self consists of a physical body and three spiritual bodies, or whether emptiness permeates everything.

For me, spirituality is all about getting away from knowing and understanding, and is going beyond accruing ever greater spiritual experiences. Instead, spirituality to me is about loving and surrender, by leaving the mind behind and feeling your body ever more deeply. Feel your emotions. Feel your resistance to feeling emotions. Scan your body four or five times a day, feeling it from toes to the hair on your head. Feel your breath entering and leaving your body. Feel your diaphragm move up and down, and your ribcage expanding and contracting. Feel where your muscles connect to your ribs.

Feel inside your heart for that spark of life that you call ‘me’. Follow the sense of being alive. Can you feel your heart beating? Surrender to the needs and desires of your flesh. Know that you are alive, and a human, embedded in a life-situation. Don’t strive to perfect that situation, but just rest more and more in your body and its situation.

Explore that dark emptiness inside. Explore your muscle tension. Practice relaxing your muscles all the time.

What will happen is the most marvelous thing. Most everyone is head and eyesight oriented, and sight, along with your mind’s understanding that we are separate from the world, puts us at a distance from the world and our own lives. Instead, sink into feeling. Feel inside your body, feel outside. Feel how the skin feels when wet or dry, how the air caresses your skin. Become very dumb and just sink into feeling, like a baby.

Magic will begin to happen. You will enter a world of energies. These energies flow throughout your body in every way imaginable. Some energies have color. Some are blissful and ecstatic, some are dense and dark. These energies interact with the energies of the world all around you: magnetic energy, electrical energy, light energy, and other invisible energies that affect and in many ways guide your life.

Soon you will no longer be in the same world as everyone else, that which I call the mundane world of everyday life. Instead, you will be submerged into a life of energies and will understand and feel your life in a way you could not have conceived of just a few years before.

What has happened is that you are becoming totally incarnated into the energy matrix that is your body and in so doing you are coming totally alive.

You will be able to feel the life force in others and accept it as your own. By doing this you also become aware of your own life force and that you are primarily spirit, that which is aware of your body as your sense instrument. Gradually you will become aware of the life force as a whole, which permeates and creates every sentient being in the universe, and you will bow to each being as your own self and as God.  You will know God within your own beingness and as your own beingness, as well as all the energies around you in life.

Lastly, you will know love in a way more deeply than ever before. Love
has so many different hues. But you will feel love for others so impossibly deep you will weep with joy, for in each other you will find God and yourself. And if lucky, you will find someone else as deep as you who wants to share life with you in a way you only dreamed was possible. A life of total devotion and surrender. Divine union. A life of ecstasy and bliss. A life of total union, total perfection, and knowing that God loves you.

God-Realization Through Total Devotional Love

Ed often says it is not he who speaks during some Satsangs, but Shakti itself speaking about itself.  In this Satsang that is most evident.  Here, Shakti paints a picture of itself in relationship to those who attend Satsang, inviting all to join in love and surrender, and describing death as the most sublime moment of final and total surrender.

SATSANG SUNDAY 11 AM ARIZONA (MOUNTAIN) TIME
TOPIC: FEELING ENDLESS BLISS
To best take advantage of Satsang, listen to chanting for an hour before and an hour after. My teachings are not in the formal teachings, but in my presence, just as Robert Adams and many others, teach this way. This is a direct transmission between the life force in me and the life force in you. Chanting aligns you better to receive this teaching. Robert’s words were just stories he told with no essential value. His teachings about emptiness, nothingness, and the Void were felt in his presence.
Go to satsangwithedji.weebly.com and listen to the chanting there.

I HAVE COME TO TELL A STORY...

Yesterday I received an email from a fellow spiritual teacher and close friend who advised me to just teach my bliss without attacking Advaita.  This sort of surprised me because I was unaware that I was perceived as attacking Advaita or any other religion.  So I reread the article I sent him and saw what he saw, which was not what I meant.

My fundamental point was that there was no truth in words or concepts when they are believed in to give information about our worlds or our lives.  The great Zen master Hui Neng said there was no truth at all, and even this truth about no-truth should be regarded with skepticism.

For example, the story of Christianity is about a supernatural all powerful being who so loved humans he sent his only son to earth via a divine birth to be sacrificed by power hungry clerics, and by so doing, he paid for the sins of all mankind, allowing anyone to go to heaven if they believed the story and accepted his path of love and charity.

Buddhism is a psychological story that begins with the premise that life is suffering, and there is a way out of that suffering by ending all desires through a practice known as the Eightfold Noble Path so that ultimately we reach Nirvana, a place of ultimate peace and happiness.  Buddhists also speak about the equivalency of forms and emptiness or the Void.

Now, I don’t think either story is very compelling or reality based in any way, more or less the salvation stories of two millennia ago. I ask, what is the point of telling or receiving these two stories or any like them, like Advaita?  Here we enter into a new way of looking at spiritual stories, and that is how do they make us feel?

Buddhism obviously appeals to those who feel the pains experienced in life far outweigh the happiness and pleasure in life, and feel they are following a credible path to end their fear, anxiety, depression, even physical pain by becoming indifferent to it.

The Christian story is an epic one of epic wars between angels and demons, God and devil, wherein a supreme and totally invisible being created a son within the uterus of a married virgin, who was destined to speak about his divine father’s nature, a path of love and a path of surrender to that supernatural being and his dead, yet alive still, son that ended with an entry into eternal happiness.

Setting aside the credibility of the story, the feeling state conveyed is one of safety from evil if you believe the story and follow the rules provided by the son and the Church.

What I was saying to my old friend was there are all these spiritual paths and spiritual stories out there, all of which proclaim for themselves truth, that they are stating facts about existence of the world, or the nature of the divine,  or of our inner states of being.

My advice is just not to regard these stories as true, and instead, look at how they make you feel, which is the real intent of Buddha and Christ.  They may actually have believed their own story, but they knew that the story itself could have an immediate healing impact, and their story could heal or calm anxieties within the lives of their listeners and promised even more relief, well-being, or immortality in the future.

So these religious/spiritual stories should not be regarded as truth.  From my viewpoint, Christianity, Buddhism, Advaita, Shaivism are all great stories that provide a framework for behaviors, practices, feelings, but only if you believe the story.  These are mega stories, or world class stories that involve millions or even billions of believers, but they are only concepts, stories, and as such are only representations of parts of the broad spectrum of human experience.

On an individual level, we have our own life stories of memories and partial acceptance of bits and pieces of the above megastories, along with partial acceptance of dozens of other mega stories such as Communism, Republicanism, democracy, cosmology, biology, and stories of political movements, the deep state, celebrities stories, etc.  We live in stories mostly, in our heads, and not in our own beingness.

You see, if we lived in our own beingness rather than in a world of concepts, we would have different experiences, such as the feeling of being a Self, a sense of being alive and vital; a story of being an alive spirit living within and around our physical bodies.  Going within even more deeply, we might be lucky enough to find emptiness, or the Great Void which permeates all the world as well as our own existence.  And out of this emptiness, one may be lucky enough to find an overwhelming love emerge by finding in another human being their spiritual and energetic essence, and be so captivated by their essence, that you fall to  the ground in total worship of that life force in them that is loving you back.  Further, you may find that in complete devotional love comes a surrender so deep, so compelling that you feel overwhelmed by a sense of feeling God’s most sacred love and grace entering you, wiping you clean of all past failures or sins.

Then eventually you might find that great love is actually your present experience of your own beingness and you experience becoming love itself.  And eventually, you might find as some say that God becomes so pleased with your devotion and surrender he (or she) decides to reveal his true power and form to you in a most explosive and ecstatic experience.

This is the outline of my own story that I offer up for others as a possible story to consider.  It is not solipsistic involving one’s own self alone as in classical Buddhism or Advaita, but it is relational, and not in the sense of having a relation with God or his son, but of finding God through love for another human being or any other sentient being on this earth.  It is a story of human relational love growing so deep and profound that it provides a way to experience God within one’s own self and in the other.

Now, I live this story.  This is my story and the story of many others, and I humbly offer it up as another vehicle to take you to ecstatic states of bliss, deep devoted love, surrender, and ecstatic God-realization through relational human love.  Love that through its depth and completeness becomes elevated to the status of divine, ecstatic love.

Not only do I teach this in words, but I sing about the ecstasies that can be felt, and I can directly pass a whiff of those energetic states to others during Satsang face to face.  This is direct transmission of both the I Am sense, and the God-sense to each other through love, energy, and story.

is this story true?  You need to be the judge of its truth for yourself. This story comes out of my own experiences, how I experienced them, and the meanings I attributed to them.

A better question to ask is how does this story make you feel, that out of a very deep love for another human, a love that continually deepens,   and becomes more and more ecstatic, and turns into complete surrender of your human self to another, and from which an until now God within feels pleased and reveals his own and your own divine nature to you as the life force, both the embodied life force, and the life force as a universal principle?

This is the story I love to well because I lived it, it made me constantly happy and nearly constantly ecstatic, and revealed the divine to me, as both Other, and external God of the universal life force, and as the life force in me that interacts with the life force in others.
