A normal rain year in Los Angeles has about 14" of rain. It snowed once for about 90 seconds during the 30 years I lived here.  This year we have had only 6" of rain, and the rainy season is just about over.

BUT TODAY IT POURED.  THE PHOTOS BELOW ARE FROM MY FRONT AND BACK YARDS. IS IT THIS GREEN BACK EAST?

  1. There are buds on the trees in Toronto. The last few days have been t-shirt weather during the day, despite the usual threat of snow this time of year.

  3. No, it is not this green back east 'yet'. The daffodils and flox are in bloom and the tulips are on the verge of revealing their transient glory.

What an excitig time spring is.

Thanks for sharing the beautiful photographs.

  4. Great images. I don't know but feel certain that few back east have ripe citrus fruits hanging in as verdant a setting as you have.

  7. Beautiful pictures Ed, How nice to be able to eat a fresh orange, picked right off your tree...

I suppose it depends where one is East..over here in Ga. everything is green...pollen count is well in the 1000's(very high) everything is covered in green...

Your grass is lush !! reminds me of ours back in N.Y. soft and no fire ants !!

  8. I've pretty much lived in the San Fernando Valley all my life and I distinctly recall there was one time it snowed, this being fifty years ago last January. I was a student in junior high so kids being what they were(and still are), we made snowballs and threw 'em at each other.

  9. Cold snap in Toronto - we're back to jackets, mittens and winter hats.
BTW I like the "San Fernando Snowball Fight" post.
Yes, Edji's lemons are the size of footballs.
